The opportunity
We are looking to appoint a one to one Learning Support Assistant for a student in our Secondary School, to start ASAP.
The post holder will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to the child, responding to their personal needs and ensuring that the child is able to access all learning activities. The Learning Support Assistant will be required to establish a constructive relationship with the child where he/she is encouraged to interact with others and engage in classroom activities and set challenging and demanding expectations that promote self-esteem and independence.
About you
The successful candidate would have a background in healthcare or Education field, ideally with a professional qualification and would be able to liaise with the relevant allied health professionals (PT and OT). They will be physically fit and have had (or be prepared to undergo) up to date manual handling training. The candidate would have some experience working with children & have an understanding of how to provide support to SEND pupils to achieve the very best outcomes.
The candidate will be a self-motivated, professionally minded person, capable of working independently, as well as part of a team. A high standard of written and spoken English is an essential requirement for all our positions.
This is a non-sponsored position and only candidates with family sponsorship currently residing in Qatar will be considered. This is a fixed-term position for the current academic year in the first instance and is funded through an external source. The post holder will be employed to provide support to specific children and will only remain in the College’s employment while the funding is provided and while the children remain a pupil at the College.
