Full Job Description
GAC Oman is looking for candidates for the role of Logistics Operations Executive to be based in its Sohar Office.
Job Description
- Verify accuracy of clearance documents, open job and accomplish as per customers’ requirements, ensuring that all documents are accurate and the job is completed within the stated timeframe.
- Prepare and pass on documents to DO collector to ensure all the documents are given on time.
- Coordinate with Seaport Supervisor/Airfreight Manager and transporters to ensure smooth operation.
- Advise client to obtain government permits for hazardous/perishable/foodstuff consignments to avoid any fines/ penalties.
- Plan and coordinate D/O collections from shipping agents and airlines thru runners to ensure that all collections are made on time.
- Maintain and update quotations, both credit limit and spot credit to ensure the best rate for customers.
- Coordinate clearance/delivery of sea/airfreight shipment & update customers so all shipments are cleared and delivered on time.
- Monitor and control custom duty/documentation deposits/exit/entry, follow up custom duty refunds so there are no pending accounts.
- Enter all billing instruction for each job and complete billing through GAC Freight so that all records are kept up to date.
- File copies of the GAC Invoices with supports and third-party invoices so all records are kept up to date.
- Minimum of High School Graduate.
- Good knowledge of custom clearance and logistics experience covering cargo operations (export/import) warehousing & distribution and product knowledge.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal) and Arabic languages an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook; good data entry skills.
- 1-3 years’ experience in clearing, forwarding and logistics operations.
- Good work ethic and ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
- Possess cultural awareness to work with people from various cultures and backgrounds.
