Full Job Description
Mott MacDonald Middle East is looking to continue to build its Clean Growth and Energy Transformation team with Green Hydrogen (H2) and Ammonia Technical Specialist to drive market engagement and support team development in this domain.As a Lead Process Engineer for Energy Transition, you will be required to act in leadership position driving business development activities and as a Senior Consultant on projects, while driving the technical delivery with the wider team based locally and globally.
Our ideal candidate is a proactive individual who have a passion for and relevant experience in areas related to energy transition, Hydrogen, CCUS, power to gas and a good understanding of the H2 and CCUS value chain – clients, suppliers, prospective partners, technologies, digitalisation, key market players, regional trends in various middle eastern territories and various national policies, net zero strategies. Leadership quality and collaborative working values are a must along with strong communication skills, commercial acumen and project management skills.
Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:
- Drive market engagement and thought leadership exercises locally
- Work with Regional Energy Transition Lead, supporting in market trend assessment, content and strategy development for Client and cross sector engagement.
- Drive project delivery across relevant technical teams; (e.g., ammonia specialists, renewable energy specialists, RO-desal experts etc);
- Engage on specific ventures or outcomes from the H2 investment, where scale or importance necessitate. In certain instances, this may also include acting as the Senior Consultant on key projects of significant importance
- Work as a team with other members of the H2 global hub, such that the global hub meets its operational and performance targets.
- Support the upskilling and knowledge base of other energy staff, sufficient for them to be a reference point for the application of Green Hydrogen and Clean Growth initiatives in cross sector opportunities.
Candidate Specification
- Degree qualified
- Experience in project management
- Experience in leadership role
- Background in hydrogen/ammonia production, storage and transmission systems/infrastructure and actively contributing to the hydrogen community through involvement in working groups, links with research bodies, and technology providers across the value chain.
- Demonstratable experience supporting the development of hydrogen/ammonia systems and technologies including electrolysis-based production systems, fuel cell power production, and advanced hydrogen conversion systems.
- Understanding of relevant regulatory and safety requirements associated with hydrogen gas installations, Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH), etc.
